Our physicians interview you in depth and thoroughly examine your problem. The initial findings will guide them to treatment, or to run additional diagnostic tests such as skin scrapings, swab cultures, laboratory blood tests, or surgical skin biopsies (skin lesion samplings for microscopic evaluation). At Clear Lake Dermatology we have an experienced board-certified dermatopathologist on site, which gives us a unique advantage in effectively comparing and correlating between the superficial appearance of a skin lesion or rash and its appearance under the microscope. This guarantees that your specimen will be in the hands of the most highly trained skin pathology specialist. |
Regardless of what tests we need to run, we have your comfort in mind, and take extra steps to make all procedures as comfortable as possible.

Treatment We offer the most up-to-date treatment practices based on current medical knowledge and evidence. We realize the high cost of today’s medications, and give you samples of your prescribed medications whenever possible to avoid ending up with an expensive medication that you are allergic to or cannot tolerate. We also make an effort to pass on pharmaceutical rebates to you as often as possible. Some of the most common types of treatment procedures that are performed in our office include the following: |

Liquid Nitrogen Cryotherapy– precancers, warts, and benign skin growths
Corticosteroid Injections – inflamed cysts, alopecia areata, and keloid scars
Surgical Excisions – skin cancers, atypical moles, irritated moles, cysts, keloids.
We have a Fellow member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, who is a skin surgery specialist and performs outpatient excisions of skin cancers, atypical moles, irritated moles, keloids, and benign tumors. We work closely with excellent Mohs surgeons for cases that we believe require even more specialized care.
Phototherapy and Excimer Laser – psoriasis, resistant eczema, vitiligo.
We are one of the few centers in the Houston area to offer excimer laser therapy for effective treatment of resistant psoriasis and vitiligo. This medical laser utilizes an intense focal beam of narrow wavelength ultraviolet B (UVB) light to clear psoriatic and vitiligo skin lesions without exposing the rest of your skin to harmful UVB effects. This is also one of the few lasers that is covered by most health insurance companies.
While we are experts in dermatologic treatments, we also highly emphasize prevention measures to our patients, taking time to teach our patients how to best avoid worsening or preventing their skin conditions.
